Reins & Roots CIC provides accessible wellbeing opportunities for children, young people, adults and families through animals, nature and community connection.
Our programmes are designed to support emotional wellbeing, confidence, resilience and personal growth through structured, supportive experiences delivered in a safe outdoor environment.
Through fundraising, partnerships and community investment, we provide free and subsidised places to ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent participation.
Our provision may include:

All activities are delivered within a safeguarding-led, welfare-focused environment, supported by experienced staff and qualified professionals where appropriate.
Therapeutic Support
In partnership with a qualified counsellor or therapeutic practitioner, Reins & Roots CIC offers structured animal-assisted and equine-assisted therapeutic sessions.
These sessions may support:
• Emotional regulation
• Anxiety management
• Confidence building
• Self-esteem
• Personal development
• Connection and trust
Sessions are delivered in a calm, professional and safeguarding-led environment. Each session follows a structured therapeutic approach and is designed around the needs of the individual or group.
Therapeutic sessions are separate from standard riding lessons and focus on wellbeing, reflection, confidence and emotional growth.

Programmes are designed to support confidence, emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive connection in a calm, supportive and safeguarding-led environment.
Sessions may be delivered by a qualified counsellor, therapeutic practitioner or appropriately trained facilitator, depending on the needs and aims of the programme.
Funded and subsidised places may be available through community sponsorship, fundraising and grant funding.
Family Wellbeing Sessions
Our Family Wellbeing Sessions provide supportive opportunities for children and their parents or carers to connect, learn and grow together through animals, nature and shared experiences.
Delivered in a calm outdoor environment, sessions combine interaction with horses and other animals, nature-based activities and opportunities for families to spend meaningful time together away from the pressures of everyday life.
Sessions may include:
• Small, supportive groups
• Guided interaction with horses and other animals
• Parent and carer wellbeing opportunities
• Confidence-building and sensory experiences
• Nature-based activities
• Facilitated support and guidance where appropriate
Family Wellbeing Sessions are designed to promote confidence, connection, emotional wellbeing and positive family relationships in a safe, inclusive and safeguarding-led environment.
Each place is typically designed for one parent or carer and up to two children.
Alternative Wellbeing Experiences
In partnership with Metaphysical Equine, Reins & Roots CIC can offer a range of optional wellbeing experiences designed to promote relaxation, reflection and connection with the natural environment.
These experiences may include:
• Guided relaxation
• Equine-assisted mindfulness
• Reiki-based wellbeing sessions
• Grounding and reflective practices
• Nature connection activities
Sessions are designed to provide a calm and supportive space where participants can pause, reflect and focus on their personal wellbeing.
These experiences are non-clinical and are intended to complement, not replace, professional medical, psychological or therapeutic support where required.
How Our Provision Is Funded
RReins & Roots CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company committed to making wellbeing opportunities accessible to those who may otherwise face barriers to participation.
Our work is supported through:

These contributions help us provide funded and subsidised wellbeing programmes, therapeutic opportunities, family sessions and community-based activities for children, young people, adults and families.
As a Community Interest Company operating under an asset lock, all surplus income is reinvested into our social purpose, helping us expand access, support more participants and create lasting positive impact within our local community.
