Our Programmes

Reins & Roots CIC delivers short term, structured equine wellbeing programmes designed as early intervention and preventative support.

Our programmes do not replace formal education provision and are not long term placements.

They are designed to build confidence, resilience and emotional regulation in a safe, structured environment.

We are committed to inclusion and welcome participants to join the programme that aligns with their identity and where they feel most comfortable.

Youth Equine Wellbeing Programmes

Ages 12–16
6-Week Programme
1.5-Hour Weekly Session
Maximum 4–6 Participants

Reins & Roots CIC delivers structured equine-based wellbeing programmes designed as short-term early intervention support.

Programmes may be delivered during part of the school day while the young person remains on roll with their school.

These programmes are not alternative provision placements and do not replace formal education.

Weekly Session Structure

Each session follows a consistent format to provide routine and psychological safety:

• Arrival and grounding activity
• Structured groundwork with horses
• Practical leadership and confidence exercises
• Break
• Facilitated reflection and guided discussion
• Personal goal setting and close

Sessions are safeguarding led and delivered in a professional equine environment in partnership with Orchard facilities.

Intended Outcomes

Participants may demonstrate:

• Increased confidence and self-belief
• Improved emotional regulation
• Greater resilience
• Improved peer interaction
• Increased engagement with school

Where appropriate, a brief summary of participation and observed development may be shared with referring schools.

Adult Equine Wellbeing Programmes

6-Week Programme
1.5 Hour Weekly Session
Maximum 4 Participants

Programmes may be delivered during daytime or evenings/weekends depending on demand and availability.

These programmes are structured, non clinical and designed to support confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing in a calm equine environment.

Women’s 6-Week Wellbeing Programme

Designed to provide space for reflection, grounding and rebuilding confidence.

Delivered in small groups within a safeguarding-led environment.

These programmes are community wellbeing interventions and do not replace clinical therapy or medical treatment.

Quiet Strength

Men’s 6-Week Resilience Programme

A structured programme supporting emotional grounding and calm leadership.

Weekly Structure

• Practical equine groundwork
• Leadership exercises
• Structured reflection
• Resilience-building discussion

Small group. Structured. Non clinical.

Equine Therapy

Delivered in partnership with a licensed therapist.

Equine therapy sessions provide structured therapeutic support within a calm equine environment.

Suitable For

• Individuals experiencing anxiety
• Emotional regulation challenges
• Confidence and identity work
• Personal development support

Format

• 1:1 sessions
• Small therapeutic groups (where appropriate)
• Session length confirmed upon assessment

Sessions are delivered under professional therapeutic guidance and are distinct from general wellbeing programmes.

Referral or suitability discussion may be required prior to booking.

Short Wellbeing Workshops

Occasional half-day equine wellbeing workshops may be delivered throughout the year.

These are community-focused and non-clinical in nature.
